Angel Overhaul

Day 24 .... and no story in sight... or mind.

Ok, So I'm not surprised -- are you?
I have the idea in my head but it's like my teachers had an idea in their heads too -- that I need to have so much work I barely have time to sleep much less write.

But I can't really complain. I got some serious plotting done during classes [payback!].
I've got the story laid out, just watching it unfold.
Obviously there's no way I can finish those 10, 000 words - or whatever it was - in 6 days...
Thanksgiving break or not...

I got into the spirit of it and started idling with my photoshop. I'm no professional but I tried :

These were the closest images I could find... they're symbolic in their own right[s]. I'm still working on the story -- the idea was too good for me to let go of it...

But! The title's being changed. I don't know what the new one is yet.... I haven't gotten that far. I actually forgot that 'Angel' is the title of a book... that was made into a TV series.... it's starring the main guy from Bones - found it on tnt.tv - I mean... I know the word in itself is common but it never occurred to me that it might have been taken.

But that's no excuse to have not met the challenge requirements... guess it'll be next month....?

Angel | The Conception Phase

It's the moment you've all be waiting for..... not really?
You could at least let me build up the suspense... now I don't even feel like telling this humongous piece of news ... that's such a colloquial phrase... it doesn't even flow... it has to flow.
Ok... it's a jaw-dropping tidbit of knowledge ..... think that flows a bit better?

Anyhoo... :
I said I would give updates on the Angel story -- and when I start getting update worthy work I'll do just that...

It's surprisingly hard to start a story from scratch when you know your deadline is so close...
Even harder considering the fact that I'm coming off a 2 year long stint of unproductive projects that basically stopped where they started... if I don't count that Sasuke fanfic that's at Chapter 22 and counting... that's a hobby -- Angel and the other works are a career. They're all business, serious stuff, etc.

Maybe that's why it's so hard to start... I'm nervous about messing up - story of my life, and now it's translating to my work... not good.

Also work on a whole terrifies me. I don't like work - obviously I love the fruit of my labor but that's when the labor is so much fun I don't realize I'm... well... laboring.

If it helps any at all, I've figured out how the story is going to start, what's going to happen in the middle, how it's going to end and how the chapter introductions will sound...in a nutshell. Now the hard part is to fill in the blanks.... 175 pages worth.... of blanks... before the 30th....

If I die over the course of writing this novel... I'm leaving this blog in the capable hands of my dear frie-- hey, where'd she go?!

NaNoWriMo's Angel

I don't know how many people will really recognize this site but
I just joined http://www.nanowrimo.com/ !!

Explanation : it's a pretty intense writer's site, they have competitions and it's really an encouraging place for a witer-to-be...to be.... heh.

I cooked up an idea and I'm hoping it flies on the wings I plan to write about.
The title is Angel and I've really put a lot into just the thought of it... which wasn't hard to come by - the idea not the thoughts.

It's going to be structured like a thesis statement in the progess of being developed and as the story goes along, each thesis statement will be proven true by the actions of the various characters... who I have yet to create.

Wish me luck! I have to finish 175 pages by November 30th ... don't ask. I'm already acutely aware of the fact that I'm crazy.
But my thinking is this:
If I can finish this challenge, considering my handicap of a late start.... what is there that I won't be able to do? - in terms of writing, of course.

I'll keep updating as the month goes on -
